Composition and
Jazz (CAJ) Ltd is a company dedicated to
enriching musical life in the North of England.
CAJ is collaboration
across three cities- Newcastle, Sunderland and Carlisle.
CAJ aims to support and develop creative projects which involve
composing,
performing and teaching music of all kinds, but with a particular focus
on
musical theatre and jazz.

Current projects include:
Musical Theatre
CAJ writes, publishes, and promotes
original works for
musical theatre. We are currently promoting
‘Stranded
Destiny’ a musical by
Claude Werner and Judith Thompson.
Commissions are welcome
We
aim to provide a fast turn around of quality work.
Jazz Ensembles
CAJ currently supports a number of jazz ensembles, all writing, arranging and recording original material.
Including: The Blofeld Experiment; The Company; Claude Werner Quartet; Mac Francis Quintet.
CAJ provides a ‘Composing and Arranging’ service which supports local and national artists

CAJ offers a composing and arranging service which supports artists in the North East.
Recording, Production and Publication Service
CAJ
has plans to develop its own label offering a recording
and production service. Several recordings are ready to go out on the
new label
and more are underway.
